Classes at Petaluma Arts Center

The Petaluma Arts Center announces ongoing registration for Spring Classes for Adults Teens and Children. The Afterschool program for Children ages 5 to 13 from Feb 17 through May 27.  Classes include: Up cycle Sewing, Working with Color for Kids, Art and Literature, Art for Home-Schoolers, Children’s Clay Adventure, Mix It Up! Arts Studio and a Create Your Own Comic class.  Classes are from 3:30 to 5:00 pm in the classroom.

Class schedules can be picked up at the Petaluma Arts Center, located in the historic railroad freight building at 230 Lakeville St. Petaluma at E. Washington St. The schedule is also available at Petaluma Community Center, Petaluma Library, and Petaluma Senior Center.

To register online go to the website petalumaartscenter.org/education/art-classes/or call the Petaluma Arts Center at 762-5600. Members receive a 10% discount. The Arts Center offers partial and full scholarships are available thanks to generous donations made to the Judy Oster Scholarship Fund.

Virginia May Ph.D., director of the Arts center says “Petaluma Arts Center is proud to offer this vital after school enrichment to children in our community. Experts in the field of education agree that arts enrichment activities improve academic achievement in all subjects and at all grade levels”.

The Petaluma Arts Center is a private, non-profit organization supported by the generosity of its membership as well as by sponsorships and grants.  Through creative programming, the Center provides the opportunity for people to encounter, engage and enjoy a diversity of art experiences.

The Center is open Thursday through Monday, from 11 am to 5 pm, Thursday through Monday (closed on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and most national holidays).   Admission is a suggested donation of $5. For information, call 707-762-5600 or see www.petalumaartscenter.org.
