BOUVERIE PRESERVE SEEKS VOLUNTEERS TO BECOME DOCENTS

The Bouverie Preserve of Audubon Canyon Ranch is holding two events for people considering becoming docents.  People who love nature and want to share their love with children and adults are invited.  Information sessions will be held on May 25 and June 15 from 1 to 4 PM to take interested people on hikes, introduce them to Bouverie Preserve docents, and describe the docent training program. Refreshments will be served.  To reserve your place at one of these information sessions, call 707- 938-4554 or email bouverie@egret.org.

Docent training starts on September 7 and meets for 23 Wednesdays (holidays excluded) from 9AM to 2PM for lectures and hikes on the Preserve.  The topics include natural history such as birds, insects, plant communities, as well as guidelines on how to talk with children and adults about nature.  They are presented by experts in their areas of natural history and docenting.

The Bouverie Preserve hosts over 3,000 schoolchildren each year.  It also offers educational programs for teens and for adults in the general public.
