Community Service Day at Corona Creek

The public is invited to the Sonoma County Youth Ecology Corps’ Community Service Day at Corona Creek in Petaluma, from 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday, February 25

Participants will plant willows and remove trash from Corona Creek, learn about their watershed, and earn community service hours. Corona Creek is one of several creeks and flood control channels in the Petaluma area that is maintained by the Sonoma County Water Agency. The creek clean-up and planting will be overseen by Water Agency staff. 

Details: Meet at Turnbridge Park, 1407 Liverpool Way, Petaluma. Wear old shoes or boots and old clothes. Bring gloves if you have them. Tools will be provided

ABOUT THE SONOMA COUNTY YOUTH ECOLOGY CORPS

The SCYEC provides summer jobs to young people (age 16-24) on a variety of ecosystem restoration or improvement projects, including removing invasive plants from creeks, building trails and planting community gardens.
