International Women's Day Centennial Celebration

One hundred years ago, International Women’s Day was first celebrated in Austria, Denmark, Germany and Switzerland, to demand the right to vote, hold public office, receive vocational training and end workplace discrimination.

Since then, the day has been marked across the world and is considered a holiday in many countries, such as Russia and China.

In Petaluma, a group of local women will meet on the Petaluma River Bridge near Dempsey’s as a way to express solidarity with women around the world. Starts at 11am.
