Party at the Farm

Tara Firma is celebrating its three years in business with a livestock exchange- open house-swap meet event this Saturday

Tara Firma Farms is celebrating its third birthday with an Open House, Local Livestock Exchange and Agrarian Swap Meet this Saturday, May 5.

If you are not sure what that means, you’re not alone.

“It’s a swap meet with a farm spin,” says Paige Phinney, operating manager at Tara Firma Farms, located on I Street Extension. “If grandma wants to bring her knit caps and barter them for some chickens, she can do that here.”

The goal of the gathering is to connect like-minded people and help Tara Firma become financially viable by getting more people signed up for their CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) program that already delivers fresh veggies and meat to more than 700 local customers. Guests are encouraged to bring meat to barbeque, a picnic and be ready to make new friends.

Saturday's event runs 1-5pm and is free and open to the public.
