Mob Schedules Vintage Style Holiday Run

Petaluma Ca$h Mob celebrates the end of 2012 with holiday shopping at Vintage Style.

The shop-local Facebook group Petaluma Ca$h Mob is celebrating the end of its first year by hitting the mod interior outfitter Vintage Style, at 155 Kentucky. Proprietors Robin Azevedo and Dean Wise recently made a big community splash by creating the mid-century vibe at coworking space WORK Petaluma (10 4th Street), but they have loads of loyal individual customers who keep coming back to add another piece or accessory. Dean and Robin, who own everything in the store and have a no-pressure sales approach have made customer service the basis of their reputation for a dozen years in retail. “If we get a good deal, we pass it on,” says Robin. “The most important and most rewarding part of this is developing personal relationships.” Though they mix in new products to showcase the vintage pieces, Dean and Robin glean most of the store’s stock from estate sales or “pigeon coop sales”, a term Robin coined after spending a rainy day stooped over, searching through poorly stored but exquisite estate sale items from the 1940s. Robin (BA in art with an emphasis on fine art photography) and Dean (master retailer and design trend forecaster) particularly enjoy consulting with clients on both ends of the transaction. If it’s a painter’s estate, they’ll buy all the pieces to keep them together, and if a buyer is conflicted over whether a certain piece will work in the home, the duo will take photos, give dimensions, and advise on color and style. They also pass clients to other Petaluma shops, because what goes around comes around. The Ca$h Mob will hit the shop all weekend, especially Friday night till nine, and next week too! Holiday Hours: 11:00-5:30+. 2013: W-M 11:00-5:30 (Closed Tuesdays)
