NBRC Tears Up the Water in Sacremento

North Bay Rowing Club travelled to Sacramento last weekend to compete in the Capital League Race on Lake Natoma. Boats from 5 teams competed on the championship racecourse under near perfect racing conditions. "Today was a great opportunity to test ourselves on the course we will be racing on for Championships", said Head Coach Will Whalen,"I am very happy with our results across the board." NBRC came away with 5 second place finishes and 4 thirds, showing marked improvements in boat speed. "Our athletes came here today and competed well against much larger teams. To walk away with these results was a testament to their hard work. We will be back on this course in May for Championships and I am happy that we were able to show this early season speed." The club races next weekend on Redwood Shores, Foster City in the Shamorock Invitational. The squad is also gearing up for an inter-squad battle in Petaluma on March 29th to raise money for much needed equipment. They will be racing 100 miles on rowing machines at the corner of Western and Petaluma Boulevard. Please come down and root them on while they row!
