Petaluma Death Notices: Chicken Farmer-Turned-Banker, World War II Veteran, More

Katherine J. Blandford, a San Francisco native who lived in Petaluma for more than 50 years before moving to Idaho, died Nov. 7 at the age of 84.

Earl William "Bill" Schneider, a Minnesota native and former Sacramento chicken farmer-turned-banker, died Nov. 5 at the age of 95. He retired as vice president and manager of the Bank of America in Petaluma in 1983. He was preceded in death by Winnifred Schneider, his wife of 31 years; Muriel Schneider, his wife of 29 years; and Rachel M. Schneider, his wife of 2 years.

Dolores P. Banda died Nov. 5 in Petaluma at the age of 90. She is survived by children in Petaluma and Rohnert Park, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Floyd H. Kirby, an Arkansas native who met his wife while he was stationed in England during World War II, died Nov. 3–two weeks before his 90th birthday. He was a longtime employee of Boutz TV in Petaluma and was involved with the Petaluma United Methodist Church. A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Nov. 18 at that church, 410 D. St.

Alyne Marie Anderson, a fifth-generation Petaluma resident who married her Petaluma High School sweetheart in 1946, died Nov 2. Her age was not given.

Doris Josephine Bynum, a Petaluma native involved with various Druids fraternal groups, died Oct. 30 at the age of 87.

Fred J. Crikos died Oct. 30 at the age of 78. He grew up in San Bruno and worked for the Reichardt Duck Farm in Petaluma, and later as a trucker.

Beverly Jean Krogstad, 77, died recently (no date given). She was a longtime Sonoma County resident and services will be held at 11 a.m. Nov. 16 at Adobe Creek Funeral Home, 331 Lakeville St. in Petaluma.
