20-Year-Old Man Shot in Petaluma, is Expected to Survive

The victim is a Rohnert Park resident.

A 20-year-old man was shot in Petaluma on Thursday evening, according to police.

The incident occurred at the Orchard Plaza Shopping Center at 5300 Old Redwood Highway at 5:07 p.m., Petaluma police Sgt. Ed Crosby said.

The victim, a Rohnert Park resident, was shot once in the back, Crosby said. He was taken to a hospital for serious injuries but is expected to survive.

Police are working on numerous leads to identify a suspect and motive, Crosby said.
