21 Petaluma Workers Allegedly Sell Alcohol to Minors During Sting
Seventy-six businesses were checked during a decoy operation using minors attempting to buy alcohol.

A state agency cited 21 employees for selling or serving alcohol to minors earlier this month as part of a decoy operation in Petaluma, according to state Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control officials.
Between Dec. 3 and 6, there were 76 establishments checked during the evening hours.

There were 17 locations where alcohol is served on the premises that sold alcohol to a minor decoy and four off-sale locations that sold to the decoy, officials said.
The employees were cited for the sales. Those who violate state alcohol laws face a minimum fine of $250 and up to 32 hours of community service.

As for the businesses where the illegal sales occurred, the ABC can take administrative action against the business, such as issuing a fine or suspending or revoking its alcohol license.
