A 22-year-old man was arrested for DUI Sunday morning after he crashed into a streetlamp on a U.S. Highway 101 on-ramp near Petaluma, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The crash was reported at the intersection of Petaluma Boulevard South and northbound Highway 101 at about 1:25 a.m., the CHP said.

Victor Mandujano, of Willits, had been driving a 1998 Chevrolet Silverado south on Petaluma Boulevard South when he lost control of his vehicle and drove off the roadway, the CHP said.

Mandujano's vehicle overturned and crashed into a streetlamp in a Caltrans construction staging area, causing a live power line to fall across the on-ramp and off-ramp to the highway, the CHP said.

Responding officers found Mandujano at the scene and arrested him for driving under the influence of alcohol. He was booked into Sonoma County Jail, according to the CHP.
