Police Seeking Witnesses to Accident

Man transported to Memorial Hospital after possibly being hit by a car

 

Petaluma police are searching for anyone who may have been in the area of East Washington and Maria Drive Wednesday night and witnessed a crash that sent a man to the hospital.

At around 8pm Wednesday, dispatchers received reports of a bicyclist down in the roadway on East Washington Street between Sutter Street and Maria Drive.

Upon arrival, officers found a 60-year-old man with moderate injuries, who was taken to Memorial Hospital and later released. Alcohol is believed to be a factor in the collision. It is unknown is a car was involved in this incident or if the bicyclist fell without contact from a vehicle.

The victim was riding a powder blue road bicycle. Anyone with information is asked to contact Traffic Officer Walt Spiller at 707-776-3720 and reference report 13-1469.
