Bose Outlet Employees Help Nab Suspected Crook Sunday Evening

A 38-year-old homeless man from Santa Rosa was arrested on burglary charges Sunday evening after he allegedly swiped loot from the Bose Factory Store and tried to outrun store employees, according to police.

The Petaluma Police Department were called to a theft at 6:20 p.m. that was occurring at Bose at the Petaluma Village Premium Outlets on Petaluma Boulevard North.

Police were told the suspect, later identified as Nathan Verrill, entered the store, stole merchandise and attempted to flee.

Store employees chased Verrill and did recover stolen property, police said.

Verrill ran to the back of the outlet mall, meanwhile, and was attempting to discard his jacket to change his appearance when a California Highway Patrol helicopter -- which happened to be in the area -- caught sight of Verrill and relayed his position to Petaluma officers, police said.

Verrill attempted to flee once again, as he was being pursued by several employees, when officers arrived and took him into custody, police said.

Verrill, who also had an outstanding misdemeanor warrant, was booked in Sonoma County Jail with a bail of $15,000, police said.
