Burglars Take Safe, Fail to Take ATM Machine During Twin Commercial Burglaries

Hit Adobe Beverage & Deli and Casa Del Palmar Mart sometime between Thursday evening and Friday morning

Burglars have been busy over the past two days in Petaluma, breaking into Adobe Beverage & Deli, sometime between Thursday evening and Friday morning.

The business, located in the 1400 block of South McDowell Boulevard, broke through its front door and took some merchandise. The burglars attempted to take an ATM machine from the store, but failed, police said.

Officers discovered that burglars also burglarized Casa Del Palmar Mart, which is located in the same shopping center. The burglars made force entry into the store and took a safe, according to police.

In one of the burglaries, the thieves entered the home through an unlocked window, police said. The two incidents are on the opposite sides of the city, but police warn residents to secure their homes when they leave and to pick up newspapers and trashcans so that it doesn't appear as if no one is home.

In addition, police encourage residents to contact police if they observe anyone suspicious or that they do not recognize in their neighborhoods.

The Police Department is requesting anyone with information, to please contact the Investigations Unit Property Detectives at (707) 778-4375.
