UPDATE: Woman Injured in Highway 101 Crash Monday ID'd

Stuck inside car for half an hour, the driver was finally rescued from vehicle and taken to hospital with moderate injuries

The California Highway Patrol has identifed a Novato teen, Margaret Burmingham, 17, as the driver of a white Mustang that overturned on Hwy. 101 in Petaluma on Monday afternoon. Her injuries were described as minor.

The crash southbound Highway 101 backed up traffic for several miles and sent the young woman to the hospital with moderate injuries.

The accident occurred around 12:45 p.m. when the driver of the Ford Mustang hit an embankment and flipped.

The crash near the Petaluma Boulevard South exit and slowed traffic to Corona Road, according to CHP. One lane was closed for about 30 minutes as crews worked to extricate Burmingham, who was stuck inside the vehicle.

First responders had to pry the door off to free the woman, who was taken to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital.
