Child Cruelty Alleged in Napa Arrest

Police said a 28-year-old Napa woman whose kids had missed half the school year was letting a registered sex offender stay in their home.

A truancy investigation resulted in the arrest of a 28-year-old Napa woman Tuesday morning, according to an arrest summary from the City of Napa Police Department:

Ashley Robles (28 yrs. of Napa) was contacted at her home in the 3000 block of Browns Valley Rd. by detectives, regarding her two children (ages 8 and 9) being truant from school for approximately half of the current school year.

Further investigation showed that Robles has allowed a registered sex offender to stay at her residence while her children were present.

Robles was arrested on two counts of being a parent/guardian of a chronic truant and for willful cruelty to a child.

Robles was booked into Napa County Department of Corrections and the children were placed in the custody of Children Protective Services.

Arrest information does not indicate a conviction.

It is so important that the school district follow up on absent children of all ages.. That would include high school absences, too. Having had children in our high schools I learned there are many truancies not followed up on. I know that it is the ultimate responsibility of parents to make sure the students are in school. There is an automatic phone call to the students' home from the high schools notifying of any absences and the need to follow up with proper documentation to excuse the absence whether several periods of school or an entire day..But, there is not much follow up with a truancy investigation to discover what is going on. So many students get to school but 'cut' so much of the day.. So glad there was follow through with these children.. It is frustrating and heartbreaking to put children at risk as a codependent person with a child molester. That is how they get away with so much. Women or men that look the other way because of some kind of gain they obtain, whether financial support, just someone to keep themselves company with or free 'child care'.. when they go to work..

the unregistered sex offenders parole officer told the young women's father in early december the parolee could stay there for 5 days at a time and was talking to the children when father came by the house to see what was going on.and asked the parole officers what is going on they said they were doing a parole check never mentioned he was a non registered sex offender.the father still insisted that why don't you take him out of here being he is a parolee.they asked the father if he knew this man and he responded he did not.welll it seems more to the story why did they not arrest the parole officers later in febuary like the young lady that got her kids taken away from her seems like with the horrible napa register reporting it would be nice to know the whole story however its news just not accurate news.by the way this so called non registered sex offender als has 2 small children that have non supervised visits with his daughters to this day.almost entrapment .I will state the young lady needed to make better judgments on who to hang around but had to have friends get the non registered sex offender out when the parole officers failed her.later the non registered sex offender did get arrested for something else and started coming back around the young lades house her aunt called his parole officer to report to have him get lost and he was rude and saying he could not and

not enough room for my venting the parolees officer should have taken his client out of the young lades house he was intimidating individual and had to have him removed by friend 40 days later after parole check she gets charged with a crime the parole officers should be charged also our tax dollars are wasted on these non functioning entities
