Cops Called to Break-In on Acadia Drive

Residents suspect they may have interrupted the burglars, Petaluma police said.

The Petaluma Police Department was called shortly before noon to a possible burglary in-progress at a home on the 500 block of Acadia Drive, however the suspect, or suspects, apparently slipped away and eluded law enforcement.

The residents entered the home at about 11:39 a.m. and believed burglars were inside, according to police.

Officers responded, established a perimeter, and brought along a canine team to search the home and neighborhood, police said.

The intruders appeared to have broken in through a rear sliding-glass door.

Stolen items were not yet tabulated, police said, and no suspects were located or identified.

The case remains under investigation, and anyone with information is asked to contact Petaluma Police at (707) 778-4373, or by anonymous tip listed in the Nixle release
