Coroner Identifies Victim of Fatal Accident
A Bodega Bay man killed when his truck collided with a telephone pole.
The Sonoma County coroner's office has identified the driver who was killed when his pickup truck collided with a telephone pole southwest of Petaluma on Thursday evening as 63-year-old Frank Holton of Bodega.
Holton was driving his GMC pickup east on Bodega Avenue near Skillman Lane in unincorporated Sonoma County around 5:45 p.m. when it drifted north across the opposite lanes and struck a mailbox, CHP Officer Marcus Hawkins said.
The truck also sheered a telephone pole in half and collided with a fence, Hawkins said.

There were no passengers in the truck and no other vehicles were involved in the crash, Hawkins said. CHP officers estimated the truck was traveling at the 55 mph speed limit.
The cause of the collision is unknown. Alcohol is not believed to be a factor but has not been ruled out, Hawkins said.
