Doggy Door Bandit Makes Off With Cash, Jewelry

Four break-ins via doggy doors over past six months leave police searching for clues

A doggy door bandit struck again Tuesday night, hitting a home off Crinella Drive around 11pm and running off with an expensive watch and cash.

The theft occurred when a suspect entered a home in the 1600 block of Acapulco Court through a doggy door and stole a $300 watch and $60, according to Petaluma police. The burglary is the fourth such incident over the past six months, with all break-ins occurring on Petaluma’s East Side.

Police don’t know if the thefts are related, but are urging residents to exercise caution and to lock doors whenever possible.
