DUI/Drivers License Checkpoint Nets Five Arrests
Three arrested for driving without a valid license and two for driving with a suspended license.
The Petaluma Police Department conducted two DUI/Drivers License Checkpoints within the city on Friday night and arrested three drivers for driving without valid licenses.
Two additional drivers were arrested for driving on suspended licenses and one of those drivers was also arrested for having false registration tags on her vehicle.
The checkpoints were stationed at Sonoma Mountain Parkway and on Petaluma Boulevard North at Gossage Avenue.

A total of 987 vehicles were screened in the checkpoint. Of those, 22 drivers were evaluated for being under the influence of alcohol. No drivers were found to be driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
A total of four vehicles were towed, three of those were impounded for 30 days.

According to Petaluma police, the DUI/Drivers License Checkpoints were made possible with funding from the California Office of Traffic Safety.
