A Pacifica man faces life in prison for allegedly sexually assaulting and kidnapping a woman who worked in the same building as him.
Raymond Nygard, 29, who worked for the Redwood Security Company at an Electronic Arts store in Redwood City, faces one count of sexual assault and one count of kidnapping for allegedly sexually assaulting on three occasions a woman who worked for a cleaning service at the same store, according to San Mateo County District Attorney Steve Wagstaffe.
Nygard allegedly forced the woman to engage in oral copulation, raped her after threatening to have her fired if she did not comply with his demands, and threatened her immigration status, said Wagstaffe.
On the last occasion, said Wagstaffe, Nygard picked the victim up and took her into another room in the retail complex they worked in and sexually assaulted her.
The victim reported the incidents four days later and Redwood City Police arrested Nygard.
A pretrial conference for the case is set for 1:30p.m. today, with Judge Lisa Novak presiding. The jury trial is set for June 6.
Nygard is in custody on $750,000 bail, said Wagstaffe.
