Four Time DUI Offender Causes Crash on Petaluma Blvd.

Accident sends driver to the hospital

A woman who has--count 'em-- three earlier DUIs on her record was under the influence when she caused a car crash on Petaluma Boulevard North Thursday afternoon, according to Petaluma police.

Robin Kay Ray, 54, of Petaluma was driving northbound on the boulevard near G Street when she did not see an approaching car and made a turn, causing the oncoming vehicle to slam into SEA Thai restaurant. Ray sustained moderate injuries and was transported to a hospital. The other driver was not injured.

Police conducted a sobriety test and concluded that Ray was under the influence of alcohol and was arrested. The collision caused the other driver's vehicle to collide with the side of the Sea Restaurant located at the corner of Petaluma Blvd South and G Street.

Police are warning drivers to drink responsibly on Cinco de Mayo, use designated drivers or call a taxi. There will be an additional five officers patrolling the streets tonight to catch drunk drivers.
