Police Searching for 15-Year-Old Missing Girl

Was last seen getting into a car with her godfather at the Washington Square Shopping Center at 5:20 p.m. Wednesday.

Petaluma police are trying to locate a 15-year-old Petaluma girl who was reported missing Wednesday evening. 

Casa Grande freshman Rubi Cruz-Mendoza was seen getting into a vehicle near the Washington Square Shopping Center around 5:20pm, police said.

Cruz-Mendoza was in the company of 29-year-old Hilario Matus-Carmona, her godfather, according to police. Police say Cruz-Mendoza is a farmworker and a Petaluma resident. He has a wife and a 2-year-old son who live in Petaluma.

A 20-year-old Hispanic man was driving the vehicle, which was described as a tan or silver colored two-door sedan.
