K-9 Cop Sniffs Out Heroin on Truck Tire on Murray Drive; Suspect Arrested Saturday Night

A Rohnert Park man, 28, was arrested Saturday night for suspected possession of heroin and probation violations after police responded to a possible car break-in underway on Murray Drive.

As Petaluma Police responded at 9 p.m. to the 500 block of Murray to investigate a report of a vehicle burglary, they found Christopher Ray Knapp reportedly walking from the front of one house to the driveway of another, plus acting suspiciously near a parked pick-up truck, police said.

Knapp was detained, and PPD Officer Art Farinha searched the area around the pick-up with his partner, K-9 Officer Jimmy, police said.

Jimmy found syringes and a little more than 1 gram of heroin sitting on a tire of the pick-up, police said.

Knapp was arrested and booked at Sonoma County Jail, police said.
