Man, 27, Scraps With Cops, Arrested at Old Redwood Hwy Restaurant in Petaluma
The Escondido man was arrested on charges, including alleged possession of cocaine, after causing a fracas outside Pete's Henny Penny Monday night.
Petaluma Police Department officers responded Monday shortly after 9 p.m. to reports of a male causing a disturbance at Pete's Henny Penny restaurant on Old Redwood Highway.
The subject, Raul Tovar Aldama, 27 of Escondido, was outside the eatery, but ran off when officers approached, police said.
Aldama took a "fighting stance against the officer" as the officer caught up with him, and a struggle on the ground ensued, police said.
Aldama battered the officer and grabbed his holster, but the officer subdued him with a carotid restraint hold, police said.
Aldama was arrested for suspicion of resisting arrest, battery of an officer and possession of cocaine. He was examined at the scene by paramedics, transported to Petaluma Valley Hospital for medical clearance and then booked at Sonoma County Jail, police said.
