Man Arrested for Leading Petaluma Officers on Foot Pursuit, Kicking Officer's Leg

A 31-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of resisting arrest and kicking an officer in Petaluma early Monday morning, a police sergeant said.
Officers responded to a report of a disturbance by a man later identified as Petaluma resident Jordan Robert Hope at his home on Almanor Street around 3:10 a.m., Sgt. Ed Crosby said.
Police found Hope outside walking away from his home and tried to stop him but he ran away leading them on a foot chase towards Eagle Park, located near Almanor and Pembridge streets, he said.
He attempted to punch one of the officers and kicked him in the leg, Crosby said.
Hope was ultimately taken into custody at Eagle Park after struggling with officers, according to Crosby.
He was examined at Petaluma Valley Hospital then cleared and booked into Sonoma County Jail on suspicion of resisting arrest and battery upon a peace officer.
