Man Beaten With a Pipe In ICU After Friday Night Attack; Police Search for Suspect

Officers are searching for a suspect after a violent attack left a Petaluma man in the hospital with a skull fracture Friday evening.

A press release, Petaluma Police explained that witnesses reported a pedestrian verse vehicle accident near Park Lane and McGregor Ave. at approximately 7 p.m., Dec. 21. When the officers arrived, they learned the victim was walking across the street when the suspect vehicle passed by him and almost hit him. Words were exchanged between the victim and occupants of the suspect vehicle. 

According to the release, the suspect then stopped and exited the vehicle with a pipe or similar blunt object in his hand, went up to the victim and struck him once on the head causing a serious head injury, before heading northbound on Park Lane in the vehicle. 

The victim was transported to Memorial Hospital with a possible skull fracture and other serious facial injuries. He was admitted into ICU in critical condition.

Police are searching for a thin-build, white male in his 20s, last seen wearing dark baggy clothing, driving a late 80’s-early 90’s dark colored, Buick-style, four-door sedan.
