Man Hit by Two Cars on Highway 101 in Fair Condition

Crossed multiple lanes of traffic in an attempt to retrieve bag that had fallen from his truck

A man who was hit by two vehicles as he dashed onto Highway 101 Sunday to retrieve a bag that had fallen from his truck, is in fair condition, the Press Democrat is reporting.

Severiano Fregoso, 40, of Alameda, was driving northbound 101 through Petaluma, when a bag flew out of his truck. He pulled over and entered the freeway on foot, crossing two lanes, before being struck by a Ford F-150. He was then struck again by a Chrystler sedan.

Fregoso suffered several broken bones and ribs and was taken to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital.
