Man Stabbed in Leg During Argument Over Ciagarettes

—By Bay City News

Petaluma police said a man stabbed another man in the leg during an argument over stealing cigarettes on Tuesday.

Police responded to the stabbing at about 12:30 p.m. in an alley behind a 7-Eleven and gas station at 101 N. McDowell Blvd., acting Sgt. Ryan DeBaeke said.

The 28-year-old male victim suffered a small laceration to his right calf but denied medical treatment, DeBaeke said.

The victim got in a fistfight with the 43-year-old male suspect who accused him and others of stealing his cigarettes, DeBaeke said.

The suspect swiped at the victim's leg with a small pair of scissors, and neither man wanted to have the other arrested, DeBaeke said.

Police are still investigating the incident.
