Man Strikes Utility Pole, Causing Downed Wires

A total of seven people were arrested over the weekend for driving under the influence in Petaluma

 

A Petaluma man was arrested for driving under the influence after he struck a utility pole late Saturday night, causing power lines to fall in a Westside neighborhood, then fled the scene.

Clint Moheng, 22, was arrested at his home, a short distance from I Street and Sunnyslope Avenue where the accident occurred.

Moheng was one of seven DUI drivers arrested over the weekend in Petaluma. Fifty-five DUI drivers have been arrested since January 1, compared to forty-eight during the same time period last year.

Additionally five DUI Hit and Run collisions have occurred since January 1. The police department deploys a DUI traffic officer Thursday through Sunday to specifically target DUI drivers. The traffic unit also conducts sobriety checkpoints, saturation patrols, DUI probation checks, and targets habitual DUI offenders in an effort to reduce DUI.
