Man Suspected of Trying to Open Bank Account in Someone Else's Name While Carrying Meth

Ryan Anthony Cardenas, 27, and Nicole Silveira, 32, were arrested.

A pair of transients were arrested in around 6 p.m. Friday in Petaluma after one allegedly tried to open a bank account at a local Wells Fargo using someone else's personal information.

That suspect, 27-year-old Ryan Anthony Cardenas, was found to be carrying 14 grams of meth and stolen checks that had been altered, a Petaluma Police Department press release states.

He also had two warrants out for his arrest.

Authorities went to the Motel 6 where he had been staying, and found more suspected stolen mail, drugs and drug paraphernalia.

Nicole Silveira, 32, was in the room and was also arrested. She was booked on stolen property and conspiracy charges.
