McDonald's Drive-Thru Customer Allegedly Steals From Cash Register

The driver was able to open the cash register and remove approximately $200 before driving away.

Petaluma police have released a photo of a driver who stole cash from a register at a McDonald's drive-thru window early this morning.

The driver, who appears to be a male in a checkered shirt, opened the drive-thru window at the McDonald's at 981 Lakeville St. in the Gateway Shopping Center around 2 a.m., Sgt. Ed Crosby said.

The driver was able to open the cash register and remove approximately $200, Crosby said. He then drove away.

Store employees were cleaning other areas of the restaurant at the time, Crosby said.

An in-store security camera photographed the suspect. Anyone with information about his identity is asked to contact Petaluma police Officer Aaron Lindh at (707) 778-4372.
