Mom With 2 Kids in Car Arrested for DUI

Nabbed Friday after rear ending a car

A Petaluma mother was arrested Friday after she ran a red light and rear ended another car on the corner of South McDowell Boulevard and Maria Drive.

Officers who responded to the scene discovered that the woman, later identified as 36-year-old Araceli Amador Gomez, was under the influence of alcohol. She also had her two children, ages 7 and 1, in the car at the time of the accident.

Nobody was injured in the collision and the children were released to a grandparent. Gomez, meanwhile was booked into Sonoma County Jail on charges of driving under the influence and child endangerment.
