Motorcylist Arrested after Police Chase

Andrew Dale Smith, 28, of Fairfield was arrested in Petaluma after he allegedly fled police who tried to stop him on his motorcycle shortly before 1 a.m. Sunday, according to Petaluma police. Arrest information does not indicate a conviction.

A 28-year-old Fairfield man, identified by police as Adam Dale Smith, was arrested shortly before 1 a.m. Monday on suspicion of evading a police officer, driving on a suspended license and displaying false evidence of registration, according to a press advisory from the Petaluma Police Department:

Petaluma Police officer on routine patrol attempted to stop Smith, who was operating a motorcycle, for an equipment violation.

Smith fled from the officer and entered Spanish Bay Court, where he abandoned the motorcycle and tried to conceal himself in some hedges.

He was found and arrested without incident, and was later booked at Sonoma County Jail.
