Napa Woman, 26, Killed in Tuesday Morning's Head-On Crash on Silverado Trail

Two occupants of other car involved were both from Napa, as well, and transported to the hospital for injuries.

A Napa woman was killed Tuesday morning when her car stuck another vehicle head-on on the Silverado Trail north of Napa, the California Highway Patrol said.

Anna Liza Ricalde Cumpas, 26, was driving a 2007 Honda Civic south on Silverado Trail north of Trancas Street around 7:05 a.m., CHP Officer Anna Paulson said.

Cumpas allowed her vehicle to veer into the northbound lane into the path of a 1998 Mitsubishi Montero driven by Luis Panales Loredo, 50, of Napa, Paulson said.

Cumpas was killed in the collision, and Loredo and his passenger, Jorge Lavaratte, 30, of Napa, were taken by ambulance to Queen of the Valley Medical Canter in Napa, Paulson said.

The collision caused major damage to the vehicles and closed Silverado Trail for two hours.

Because she died in a car accident why does everyone assume it's due to texting or talking on her cell? Maybe God had her room ready, ever think of that?

The Trail is not to be blamed, I've driven it hundreds of times without difficulty. This is most likely a case of driver error.
