Overturned Truck Stalls Traffic on Northbound 101

No injuries reported

An overturned cherry picker traveling northbound on Highway 101 caused major delays on Tuesday afternoon, stalling traffic for close to two hours, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The vehicle was traveling just north of East Washington Street at around 12:30pm when it hit the center divide and overturned several times before coming to a stop in a ditch, CHP Officer Ricky Shuman said. The driver and passenger of the truck refused medical attention at the scene.

No other injuries were reported, although the cherry picker did knock down a perimeter fence on the side of the freeway. The accident backed up traffic for miles and was only cleared around 3pm Tuesday.
