Packages Stolen From 3 Petaluma Porches

The homes were in the northeast part of Petaluma, according to police.

Petaluma residents who head online for last-minute shopping may need to take extra care to protect those items once they arrive.

Petaluma Police said Monday three residents have reported having packages stolen from their porches recently. In the thefts, packages were stolen from homes are on Tahola Lane, Princeville Court and Rainier Avenue and no suspects were seen.

"Residents should watch for suspicious people in their neighborhoods and suspects following delivery persons," police said in a press release.

Four other residents had packages and electronic equipment stolen over the weekend from vehicles, police say. All those thefts were at night and some of the cars were left unlocked, according to police.

"Residents are encouraged to lock their vehicle and not to leave valuables lying in the interior of the vehicle," police said.
