Shiloh Ranch Regional Park remains closed Monday afternoon as authorities recover the skeletal remains that were found in the park on Sunday.
Crime scene investigators have not yet removed the remains, sheriff's Lt. Steve Brown said.
A citizen walking with his two children in the park, located at 5750 Faught Road southeast of Windsor, came upon the skeleton and a tennis shoe in a creek bed around 2:30 p.m. Sunday, according to the sheriff's office.
Deputies confirmed that there was a human skull and found other bones under some leaves in the immediate area. Detectives then responded and the scene was secured overnight.
