Petaluma Father Arrested for DUI Had Child in Car

Already on probation for drunk driving

A Petaluma man with a history of drunken driving was arrested Sunday after allegedly driving drunk with a 6-year-old passenger, police said.

Officers responded to a report of a possible drunken driver with a small child in the car near East Washington and Grey streets around 4:30 p.m. Sunday, according to police.

Officers located the vehicle as it was pulling into a parking lot and made contact with the driver, identified as 44-year-old Pedro Lopez-Perez of Petaluma, police said.

Police said Lopez-Perez was on probation and had a suspended driver's license from a past DUI conviction.

Officers conducted a series of field sobriety tests and arrested Lopez-Perez on suspicion of DUI, child endangerment, probation violations and driving with a suspended license. A parent was called to pick up the 6-year-old, police said.

Lopez-Perez was taken to county jail and was being held on $25,000 bail.

When are we going to get a way so these people can't drive in cars? And he had KIDS? He could have killed his child and others. Send him to AA and take his ability to drive away for awhile. Glad they caught him Good work

Just want to say yet again, how sick & tired I am of drunk drivers!!! They don't care if they have a D.L. Or a child in the car. He'll do it again is my guess.
