Petaluma Gal Goes to 7-Eleven, Brandishes Weapon, Gets Arrested

Police arrest Angela Marie Amaya, 34, on suspicion of brandishing a weapon, resisting arrest.

A 34-year-old Petaluma woman went to jail Wednesday night after a trip to 7-Eleven at 124 Petaluma Blvd. South.

Police say Angela Marie Amaya went to the store and entered a vehicle while the car's owner and passenger were inside buying items.

"Amaya began rummaging through the car’s glove box when she was confronted by the car’s owner and passenger," a Petaluma Police Department press release stated. "Amaya refused to get out of the car and brandished a screwdriver when they tried to remove her."

Amaya then allegedly went inside the 7-11 and began abusing an ATM machine when she could not get it to dispense money to her, police said. Officers went to the store and detained Amaya. She was booked at County Jail.

No one sustained injuries from this incident.
