Petaluma Man Arrested After Breaking into East Bay Home

Walnut Creek resident finds burglar poking around in her garage

A Petaluma resident was arrested in Walnut Creek Friday night after breaking into a home, according to Walnut Creek police.

Kyle Gingras, 25, was caught when a woman returned home to find him in her garage. Gingras allegedly fled on a motorcycle, but the woman notified the police and followed him in her car. Walnut Creek police officers caught up with the fleeing vehicle in Pleasant Hill and arrested Gingras.

He was charged with residential burglary and is being held at the Martinez Detention Facility with a bail of $50,000.

A series of residential burglaries has plagued the northwest Walnut Creek, although it's not clear with Gingras is connected to them.
