Petaluma Man Charged With Child Endangerment, DUI

Thad Summary was arrested after two small children were found in his car.

A Petaluma man was arrested on charges of child endangerment and driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs Saturday, according to Petaluma police.

A Community Service officer observed a vehicle parked in the red zone in front of Safeway. When the officer attempted to contact the driver of the vehicle, the driver fled the area, according to a news release.

Officers located the driver, Thad Summary, who they determined to be DUI, and he was arrested. The investigation revealed Summary had two small children in the car while he was driving and so he was charged with child endangerment.

Neither child was injured. They were released to their mother.

Summary was transported to the county jail with a bail of $25,000, authorities stated.
