Petaluma Man Charged With Child Endangerment, DUI

Thad Summary was arrested after two small children were found in his car.

A Petaluma man was arrested on charges of child endangerment and driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs Saturday, according to Petaluma police.

A Community Service officer observed a vehicle parked in the red zone in front of Safeway. When the officer attempted to contact the driver of the vehicle, the driver fled the area, according to a news release.

Officers located the driver, Thad Summary, who they determined to be DUI, and he was arrested. The investigation revealed Summary had two small children in the car while he was driving and so he was charged with child endangerment.

Neither child was injured. They were released to their mother.

Summary was transported to the county jail with a bail of $25,000, authorities stated.

Awesome job!! This officer may have saved more than the lives of those two children. It's unfortunate that no other family member was looking out for the safety of those two children.

I did not get a ticket. I work in this town and do bussiness in this town and I know Officers on the force. How I feel about what I have whitness of wrong doing by Petaluma Police would blow your mind. Your right I have no respect for them and being they are allowed to get away with bad behavior and not be accountable for breaking laws them self called " Color of athuorty" I will give my opinion about this department! The old saying walk in my shoes then say I should let it go. Again it's not about ticket so much more.,

Rebecca I agree they are important but Serious gangs are here and moving in to Petaluma. Crime rate is increasing, People in voilent acts are increasing. Houses are being broken into. Prositution in in a lot of massage places in town. Commericial building being broken into and sprayed on trucks gas tanks being emptyed, Molesters in the public bathrooms and hiding in the bushes and trails near public parks. O come on spent more time stopping real dangers to all the public not just the ones on the road. This is what I am saying. Anyone breaking the law needs attention I agree Rebecca. To much efford to foucus on crimes that bring in money Like speeding tickets and not enough real police work. We need a better dept. Not a buch of big head attitudes with bages and a gun! I grew up in SF and the police dept was always like when I was a kid and young adult. Maybe what I am seeing is small town wantabes?
