The Petaluma Police Department is seeking a 25-year-old Petaluma man suspected in an alleged battery and attempted robbery incident on Wednesday at Motel 6.

At 4:51 a.m., Petaluma officers were called to the motel on North McDowell Boulevard, police said, where a 26-year-old male with facial injuries and a broken arm reported being a victim of felony battery by the suspect Anthony Silva.

Officers were told that the victim and Silva were trying to rent a room at Motel 6. But when the victim was refused a room by the inn's management, Silva reportedly became angry and began to hit and kick the victim, police said.

The victim was transported to a local hospital where he was treated for facial injuries and a broken arm, police said.

Officers were unable to locate Silva, and have released is photo and are asking the public for help.
