Petaluma K-9 Unit Apprehends Suspect in Attempted Robbery

52-year-old Petaluma man picked up on a robbery warrant Sunday.

 

Petaluma Police, with the help of their K-9 Bosco, on Sunday apprehended a Petaluma man suspected in an attempted robbery Saturday in San Rafael.

Just after 5 p.m. Sunday, Bosco led police to Daniel Stolz, 52, who was hiding in a boat that was inside a boat storage facility near to Stolz's home in Petaluma.

Stolz was taken into custody without incident and later released to San Rafael Police Department, police said.

Petaluma Police said the  San Rafael Police Department issued a warrant Saturday for Stolz for an attempted robbery that had occurred in San Rafael.

Then, at around 5 p.m. Sunday, Petaluma officers observed Stolz in front of his residence. Stolz fled the residence before officers were able to make contact with him.

Officers, with the assistance of Petaluma K-9 Bosco, checked the area. K-9 Bosco located Stolz hiding in a boat in a nearby boat storage facility.
