Petaluma Woman Arrested on Suspicion of DUI After Hitting Bicyclist

The crash took place Friday night at the intersection of South Casa Grande Road and South McDowell Boulevard

A Santa Rosa woman was arrested for suspicion of drunk driving after hitting a woman on a bicycle in Petaluma on Friday night, police said.

Police responded to reports of the collision at the intersection of South Casa Grande Road and South McDowell Boulevard shortly before 11 p.m. on Friday. The bicyclist was riding through the intersection when she was struck by a car, police said.

Police identified the driver of the car as Denise Hoganson, 54, of Santa Rosa. Police determined that Hoganson had been drinking and arrested her for felony DUI. The bicyclist was transported to a local hospital and treated for her injuries. Hoganson posted $30,000 bail and was released.
