Petaluma Woman Assaults Father with Knife During Dispute Over Boyfriend
A woman in Petaluma was arrested after she assaulted her father with a knife during an argument on Saturday evening, an acting police sergeant said.
Shortly after 5 p.m. on Saturday, police were notified that a woman had assaulted her father during a family argument in a home on Santa Clara Lane, located near Miwok Park, Petaluma Police Department Acting Sgt. Ron Klein said.
Based on the police investigation, 63-year-old Michael Haguland and his 34-year-old daughter Jennifer Haguland were in a verbal argument about the daughter's boyfriend.
The daughter became angry and verbally threatened to kill her father, according to Klein. She then grabbed a knife and threatened her father with it while making a stabbing motion at him. He deflected the knife, causing a minor laceration to his hand, Klein said.
The father did not require medical treatment, but his daughter was placed under arrest for assault with a deadly weapon and making criminal threats against her father, according to the acting sergeant.
Jennifer Haguland was booked into Sonoma County Jail with bail set at $30,000, police said.
