Police Arrest 2 Stolen Car Suspects

31-year-old Venice woman and a 27-year-old transient taken into custody at Motel 6.

Police in Petaluma arrested two people for being in possession of a stolen car on Friday afternoon.

Officers responded to a report of two adults asking to buy marijuana in a Kohl's parking lot, at 1363 North McDowell Blvd., at about 1:50 p.m., police said.

The caller reported that one of the two adults, Dawn Louise Pellini, 31, of Venice, asked if she could buy marijuana, according to police.

Pellini and her accomplice, Charles West, 27, a transient, parked the 1997 Ford Ranger they were driving in and walked to a nearby Motel 6, 1368 North McDowell Blvd., police said.

Police ran the license plate number and it had reported stolen out of San Jose from last Tuesday, according to police.

Officers went to the Motel 6 and spotted Pellini and West attempting to check in, police said.

Both suspects admitted to driving the stolen car from San Jose to Petaluma and leaving it in the Kohl's parking lot, and were subsequently arrested, police said.

Pellini and West were booked into Sonoma County Jail on suspicion of possession of a stolen vehicle.
