Davis locked himself inside the house but he was arrested when he ran out of the back of the residence, Lyons said. Davis was arrested on the warrant and for resisting arrest.

Daniel Lemos, 20, was arrested on suspicion of vehicle burglary in the 100 block of Second Street, Lyons said. The victim briefly stopped Lemos but he escaped and was arrested around 12:35 p.m. at Putnam Plaza in downtown Petaluma, Lyons said.

While in Putnam Plaza, police arrested Michael Soloman, 39, a transient, who was wanted in San Bernardino County for a property crime, Lyons said.

At 3 p.m., police contacted 35-year-old Richard Batson, a transient who was setting up camp near the railroad tracks on Hopper Street, Lyons said.

Batson was on parole for burglary that prohibited him from leaving Humboldt County, and he was arrested for parole violation and possession of hypodermic needles, Lyons said.

There was an alarming increase in residential burglaries and other property crimes in Petaluma in July, Lyons said.

Since last Thursday, there were five thefts from vehicles, two residential burglaries, two commercial burglaries, two vehicle thefts and eight other thefts reported, Lyons said.

In all five thefts from vehicles, valuables were left inside the unlocked vehicles, Lyons said.
