Highlights from Petaluma Police Department's arrest log and calls for service

Four cell phones were taken from unlocked vehicles on Sunday, Aug. 22, in the 400 block of Hopper Street. The theft is valued at $1000.

A resident of Serpilio Way reported on Sunday that someone illegally charged $500 worth of items to their credit card. The charges were made out of state and no suspect information is available.

A $400 laptop was taken from an office in the 400 block of Payran Drive on Sunday, Aug. 22. Surveillance video showed a suspect, who has been identified as possibly homeless. An investigation is ongoing.

A car was reported stolen from Montero Way on Sunday, Aug. 22.

Arthur Hudson, 29, of Petaluma, was arrested Saturday, Aug. 21 on charges of resisting an officer, fighting in a public place and shoplifting. Police would not identify the location of the incident only saying that it was on Petaluma Boulevard South.

A man was defrauded out of $13,000 after he wired the money to a womany he met at an online dating site and who told him she had a medical condition. The suspect said she lived in London. Police have few leads in the case.

A Petaluma resident in the 100 block of Washington Street reported that someone had opened a DISH Network account in his name on Friday, Aug. 20

Police also cited and/or arrested a total of 36 people at three checkpoints over the weekend. Seven of those was for Driving Under the Influence, three for possession of illegal drugs, nine for driving on a suspended license, 15 for not having a license. A person who was found with brass knuckles in the car—considered a weapon--was also arrested.
