Police Blotter Oct. 5-11

Stolen cars and car parts, fraud and identity theft are among some of the cases Petaluma police have investigated over the past week

Paul Rickards, 49, of Petaluma, was arrested on charges of driving a stolen vehicle, grand theft and being in possession of marijuana on October 11.

Police are investigating allegations that Sonoma County contractor Tim Silva collected money from residents of the Leisure Point Mobile Home Park in the 300 block of Stony Point Road, but never performed any work. The incident was first reported October 9. Police say Silva passes himself off as a general contractor, but is operating without a business license.

A stolen car was reported on San Rafael Drive shortly before 9am on October 9.

Another car was reported stolen while parked on Petaluma Boulevard North and Mary Drive on October 8.

Fraud was reported on Meadowglen Drive on October 8. According to the police, someone applied for credit using the victim’s stolen information.

Someone stole catalytic converters from three Toyota cars that were parked on Weaverly Drive, Crinella Drive and St. Anne Way between 10pm and 7am on the night of October 7. Petaluma police have investigated other similar thefts in recent months as the price of platinum, found inside the converters, has shot up on the metals market.

A burglary was reported on Western Avenue on October 7. Police did not provide a block number.

Alberto Lucchesi, 74, was arrested on charges of battery on a person on October 7.

Ariz Jacques, 19, was arrested on charges of exhibiting a deadly weapon in the 1100 block of South McDowell Boulevard October 6.
